[Update after the gig] Thank you all for a fascinating afternoon in London. Sorry Frank, you came by here and posted a comment before I uploaded my presentation slides (pdf). I could not be connected on the plane, but now when I am on the bus heading towards Stockholm for Arlande I an online again.

As a result of my gig for EDEN about a month ago BBC Learning has invited me to London. They are in the midst of developing a new, large, and rather innovative interactive learning proposition aimed at children aged 6-10. Within this BBC Learning are establishing teams of creative, interactive, gaming, educational and narrative experts to take part in a three month pre-production ideas development stage. As part of this they have asked me to inspire the teams with some of the latest thinking about the new approaches for / needs of today’s learners.

As I write this, on my way to London, I am prepped to talk about post modern consumption and brand management, the history of Public Service, Web 2.0 and social media. But of course also eager to join the team members in a creative conversation about the future of learning.

The International Programme Office for Education and Training (Programkontoret) contacted me a couple of weeks ago and asked if I would be interested in giving a presentation at one of their meetings. The European Mobility Alumni Network (EMAN) is a project for the corresponding offices in Hungary, Italy, Norway, and Sweden. No, I do not know if they have a web site, googled and could not find any.

November 22-23 representatives are meeting in Stockholm for the LLP – Greenhouse for sustainable networks (LLP=Lifelong Learning Program). The aims of the meeting are:

• gather and disseminate experiences from study tours/courses
• facilitate personal networks for future collaborations
• create shared platforms for common interests

Those who know me might guess what I think when I read ”The results [from projects] will be presented in a CD to be distributed to NA:s as well as study visit and course providers”. In any case, I have on short notice happily accepted to share my personal experiences, as I have learned a lot from similar, but Web 2.0-based, ventures in the area of future learning. In short my idea is to use my 30 minutes to:

• present an overview of social media and Web 2.0 technologies
• illustrate how grassroots use that stuff to converse about the re-invention of learning
• conduct a Q&A session

Tidningsutgivarna bildade MedieUtbildarna AB för snart två år sedan. Dom arbetar med utbildning och strategisk kompetensutveckling inom hela mediebranschen. En av deras uppdragsgivare är Hjemmet Mortensen AB, vars svenska del ger ut över 20 tidskrifter. Denna dag samlar dom framförallt redaktionsfolk, men även andra från verksamheten, till en lunchföreläsning. Jag har fått äran att konversera kring rubriken ”Har tidskrifterna någon framtid i webb 2.0?”

Så, hur kommer jag då in i bilden? Jo, den 23 november kl 16-17 är det ett seminarium på biografen Grand 2. Där diskuteras projektet – och jag har fått äran att vara moderator. Haka på, det är både banbrytande och gratis!

EU-upplysningen är en del av Riksdagen och har uppdraget att ge ”opartisk och allsidig information om EU och det svenska medlemskapet”. Nu ska en ny version av deras webbplats lanseras för speciellt inbjudna gäster. Jag har uppdraget att under en dryg halvtimme bjuda på aha-upplevelser och visa exempel på den nya webbgenerationens utmaningar och möjligheter. Tokintressant., och jag är otroligt glad över att få vara med vid detta tillfälle.
